The Heritage List was established in 2023 in order to record items of historic interest around Eastbourne that were not subject to formal listing by Heritage England. Since that time a small team of volunteers have collated and photographed over 450 items which range from buildings to drain covers. The team have recorded and, in some cases, restored items such as stink-pipes, licence stand plates and streetlights. Find out more and how you can help preserve Eastbourne’s heritage.
ENHAS hold E J Bunnett's fantastic archive stored away in three cardboard boxes. Tony has researched and photographed much of this extensive collection and will show us some of these remarkable images while telling us all about the man whose life time's work has been forgotten. We will also need to discuss the conservation and future of the archive.
Colin will talk about the Roman Fort, Norman Castle and WW11 gun emplacements while also giving us an update on archaeological excavations and research over the last 100 years
